Zepbound Medication Information
All three contain the same medication (tirzepatide). The key differences are:
- Vial: More flexible, cost-effective, requires syringes. Only available through LillyDirect/Gifthealth — cannot be transferred to a local pharmacy.
- KwikPen (multi-dose): Disposable, pre-filled, convenient weekly injections. Available exclusively through LillyDirect.
- Auto-injector (single-dose pen): Easier to use, may be covered by insurance. Your provider can help determine which is right for you.
Zepbound is available in 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, and 15mg. Most patients start at 2.5mg weekly for 4 weeks and increase by 2.5mg every 4 weeks as tolerated, under their provider’s guidance. A new prescription is required for dose changes.
Yes. Injection supplies are not included but can be added for $5 at checkout. The vial requires syringes; the KwikPen requires pen needles.
Yes — this is expected. The KwikPen is designed to deliver exactly 4 doses. Do not attempt to use any remaining medication. Dispose of the pen after your 4th dose or 30 days after first use, whichever comes first.
Keep unused vials and pens refrigerated (36°F–46°F). Once in use, the KwikPen may be stored at room temperature (up to 86°F) but must be discarded 30 days after first use, even if medication remains.
