How do I know if the Zepbound pen, Zepbound® KwikPen®, or Zepbound vial is right for me?

Is the medication in the Zepbound pen, Zepbound® KwikPen®, and vial the same?

Yes! All approved Zepbound® pens, vials, and Zepbound®KwikPen® contain the same formulation.

Regardless of the delivery method, you're receiving identical medication.

What is a Zepbound® KwikPen®?

The Zepbound® KwikPen® (for single-patient-use) is a disposable, multi-dose, single-patient-use pen designed for simple, convenient weekly injections.

Access & Ordering

Where should my provider send my Zepbound® KwikPen® prescription?

The Zepbound® KwikPen® (for single-patient-use) is available exclusively through LillyDirect®.

All strengths (2.5 mg to 15 mg) can be prescribed.

However, the fastest and most reliable option is for your provider to electronically send the prescription to:

Do I need to purchase any additional supplies?

Yes. Pen needles are sold separately for a small additional fee of $5 through the LillyDirect pharmacy that fills your order.

What if my provider can’t find LillyDirect Pharmacy in their EHR?

The Zepbound® KwikPen® may take time to appear in their system. Your healthcare provider can note to dispense “KwikPen” in the directions of your electronic prescription or a faxed prescription.

Program Details

Will Zepbound® KwikPen® be part of the Self Pay Journey Program?

Yes! The Zepbound® KwikPen® is included in the program.

Reduced Zepbound costs are part of broader pricing updates to improve affordability.

As long as your order is completed within 45 days of your last delivery, promotional pricing is as follows:

  • 2.5 mg: $299/month
  • 5 mg: $399/month
  • 7.5 mg -15 mg: $449/month

Dosing & Administration

What are the dosing strengths of the Zepbound® KwikPen®?

Available strengths: 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, and 15 mg.

Most patients start at 2.5 mg weekly for 4 weeks, increasing gradually as tolerated.

What is the dosing schedule?

Start at 2.5 mg weekly for 4 weeks.

Increase by 2.5 mg every 4 weeks until reaching your maintenance dose.

How do I use the Zepbound® KwikPen®?

Inject subcutaneously once weekly in your abdomen, thigh, or upper arm — any time of day.

How do I store the Zepbound® KwikPen®?

Keep unused pens refrigerated (36°F–46°F / 2°C–8°C).

You may store your used Zepbound® KwikPen® at room temperature up to 86°F (30°C) or in a refrigerator between 36°F to 46°F after your injection.

Regardless if Zepbound® KwikPen® is stored at room temperature or in a refrigerator, throw away the device 30 days after first use even if there is remaining medication.

I finished all doses, but I still see medicine left in the Zepbound® KwikPen®. Is that normal?

Yes! The Zepbound®KwikPen® is designed to deliver exactly 4 doses, even if medicine remains visible.

Do not attempt to inject leftover medication.

Should I try to use the “extra” dose?

No. The leftover medicine is not intended for use. Dispose of the pen after 4 doses.

How do I know I received a full dose?

If you see the zero icon in the dose window, your dose is complete. If not, insert the needle again and finish the injection — do not redial. For concerns, call Lilly at 1-800-LillyRx.

Will the price change if I refill after 45 days?

Yes. For refills outside the 45-day window:

  • 7.5 mg: $499/month
  • 10 mg: $699/month
  • 12.5 mg: $699/month
  • 15 mg: $699/month
